The Latvian Hockey Federation confirmed Eriks Miluns as head coach for the U18 national team.

Miluns led the Latvians to the top division in 2014 and under him the Latvians managed to remain at the elite level after beating Germany in the relegation round of the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship in Switzerland.

Latvia will play defending champion and host United States, Switzerland, Russia and Sweden in Group A of the 2016 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 World Championship in Grand Forks.
